Kusini

Kusini. Located south of Lamai, it doesn't seem too far away on the map, but we were still three quarters of an hour away by plane. It would have been 5 or 6 hours by car. Our guides Flexon und Kasaine picked us up at the airstrip and drove with us towards the camp. Once there, the camp manager told us that Alex had organized a flycamping for us. Fly camping actually means that you walk from camp to camp, so it is dismantled each time and reassembled at a different location. Astrid had told Alex that we had done something like this before. Also in the Serengeti, 10 years ago. Our guide at the time is now a celebrity within the Serengeti community. They all know each other.

We spent one night in camp in Kusini and drove on to an outpost the next morning. After a short rest we drove on and after a while got out of the car and continued on foot. With the guide in front of us, we walked through a hollow and after a good hour...
